Day 7 - Ethan Zweig

 Day 6-

We started the day off with the opening Wall Street bell. After the bell rang Ms. Agrawal gave us an opening bell activity by asking us two questions. 1) Pick a company you’re interested in. How did it get started? Who founded it? 2) Think of an entrepreneur you know, tell us about them, their business and how it got started. It was interesting getting to know the history of companies that are popular today. I researched Nike and learned about how it was founded in 1964 and how it got popular by attaining 50% of the market share in the U.S. athletic shoe market. We took a 13 minute break and started presentations. The first presentation was Leon who gave us a presentation about currency. Second was Charlie who presented about trusts and wills. The final presentation was me (Ethan) who presented about real-estate and real-assets. We ended off the morning listening to a podcast about Airbnb and how it got started. The guy talking about his Airbnb business mentioned that he got the idea when he let a random stranger stay at his apartment and got the idea to turn it into a business. We then got into the van at 11:30 and drove to The Post to have lunch at the food court there, which by the way was really good. We went up to the garden area at the top of the building which had an amazing view of downtown.

When we got back in our cars we drove to Rice University to see the Bull and the Bear. These stand for different markets with the bull market occurring when securities are on the rise and the bear market occurring when securities fall. When we got back we had our seminar on Richest Man in Babylon CH.9 and Dave Ramsey’s Complete Guide to Money CH.11-CH.12. Chapter 9 of Richest Man in Babylon was about paying debts and payments late and Dave Ramsey’s book chapters 11 and 12 were about getting careers and real estate. At the end of the day we learned how to do a technical analysis of a stock and look up the stocks history in the last 5 years to figure out when the best time to invest in it was.
